Disordered Eating Support Groups

Join Our Disordered Eating Support Groups

Our compassionate, expert-led groups provide a safe and welcoming space for you to share your journey, find support, and grow. Together, we’ll replace negativity with positivity, build resilience, and create lasting change—one step at a time.

At Nurtured Nutrition, we believe that healing from disordered eating is not just about individual effort—it’s about community, connection, and shared understanding. Our disordered eating support groups are designed to provide a nurturing environment where you can grow, heal, and achieve your personal goals with the support of others who understand what you’re going through.

Why Support Groups Matter

Support groups have long been recognized as a powerful tool in the recovery process. Studies show that participating in a support group can significantly improve outcomes for individuals struggling with disordered eating and related challenges. Research indicates that those who engage in group therapy or support groups are more likely to sustain recovery, experience reduced symptoms, and report improved overall well-being compared to those who go it alone.

Being part of a group fosters a sense of belonging and reduces feelings of isolation, which are common among individuals dealing with disordered eating. When you share your journey with others who are on a similar path, you gain valuable perspectives, emotional support, and encouragement. The group setting also allows you to learn from others’ experiences, which can be incredibly empowering and motivating.

Our Approach

  • Expert-Led Sessions: Each support group is facilitated by one of our three experienced dietitians, all of whom specialize in disordered eating and recovery. They bring not only their clinical expertise but also a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to guide the group discussions and activities.
  • Accessible and Free for Clients: We are committed to making support accessible to all our clients. Our support groups are offered at no additional cost, ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of your recovery journey.
  • Virtual and Convenient: Held every other Tuesday at 5 PM via a HIPAA Compliant Telehealth Platform, our sessions are designed for your convenience. Whether you’re joining from the comfort of your home or on the go, you can easily fit these sessions into your weekly routine.

What You Can Expect

Our support groups are thoughtfully structured to create a supportive and empowering environment. Each session is designed to provide both emotional support and practical guidance, helping you to navigate your journey with disordered eating. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect during our meetings:

  • Mindful Moment: We begin each session with a mindful moment. This practice helps ground us in the present, creating a calm and focused atmosphere that allows everyone to engage more fully in the discussion.
  • Group Support: One of the core components of our sessions is the opportunity for group members to share any areas where they might need support. Whether you’re struggling with a particular challenge or simply need someone to listen, this is a space where you can voice your concerns and receive compassionate feedback and encouragement.
  • Goal-Setting and Action Steps: We also discuss things to work on outside the group. This might include setting small, achievable goals or identifying strategies to apply between sessions. By focusing on actionable steps, we help you translate the insights and support you gain from the group into real-world progress.

While each session may touch on different topics, such as body image, mindset, or movement, the overarching goal is always the same: to foster a sense of connection, support, and forward momentum on your recovery journey.

The Power of Community

In our groups, you’ll find more than just information—you’ll find a community. A place where you can connect with others who understand your struggles and celebrate your successes. Research has shown that support groups not only help in reducing symptoms of disordered eating but also foster long-term resilience. They offer a platform for mutual support, where you can both give and receive encouragement, advice, and empathy.

Participants often report feeling more confident and less alone after joining a group, finding that the shared experiences help them stay committed to their recovery goals. This sense of accountability and connection can be a crucial factor in maintaining progress over the long term.
